CREDIT RESCUE TO THE SUPER BOWL!

Each year Diamond Dogs Rescue, Inc has a super bowl fundraiser in hopes of collecting enough donations to make a difference in the lives of unwanted dogs! It’s a great way of adding to the excitement of the Super Bowl.

This year we had over 200 participants and rescued six puppies and two adults because of the boost from those funds. They don’t cover all vetting, but they are the addition needed to help supplement adoption fees.

To our surprise ALL WINNERS of two super bowl pools opted to donate back their winnings! We were over joyed because just days after the super bowl we were approached to rescue one of the sweetest beagle mix pups I have ever seen.

Located in North Carolina, this girl had obviously been dumped and living the best she knew how on her own. Bonita, the person who picked her up and has been a friend in rescue, messaged Diamond Dogs Rescue saying “I have been trying to pick up this little girl since November. She runs up and down the road and would never come to me. For some reason she did today. So, I couldn’t leave her. Her back leg is hurt, she has some injury to her face, is really skinny and her tail has been amputated with the tail bone exposed. I know you are probably full but is there any way you can take her?”

A GREAT BIG YES………..BECAUSE OF THOSE EIGHT SUPER BOWL WINNERS WHO DONATED BACK THEIR FUNDS!!!

Named “Kelce” because of her football connection for rescue………..Di Rogers named her after the football players, brothers Travis and Jason Kelce! Seemed like the perfect choice for her name!

Our medical update: Kelce was diagnosed as malnourished, traumatic and unstable subluxation of the femoral joint, which will require surgery, tail amputation/surgery and she tested positive for heart worms, so will need heart worm treatment. Besides the standard update of all vaccines, spay and microchip, fecal and full blood panel plus TLC grooming and feeding.

She will be looking for a family to return all the love she has been giving to those who have met her!
